About the Artist

Ethan Sheppard (b. 1993, Kent) is a Glasgow-based artist whose practice is rooted in personal history, emotional landscapes, and the reconstruction of identity.

Raised within the Jehovah’s Witness faith, Ethan’s early life was shaped by a search for belonging within rigid spiritual structures. After leaving the organisation and navigating the complexities of depression and self-discovery, these lived experiences now serve as a foundation for his creative exploration.

His work is intuitive and research-driven, often centred around themes of intimacy, pain, memory, and the fluidity of self. Through a process that is both reflective and reactive, Ethan examines what it means to exist authentically in the aftermath of belief systems, trauma, and transformation.

Ethan has exhibited work in the UK and internationally.
